What is your role at 93x? 93x_Meet_the_team_Vini

Digital Strategist

What does an average day look like for you?

I usually start my day by reviewing my to-do list over a coffee and setting the priorities for the day. Then, we usually have a couple of morning team stand-ups, which is a great chance for us all to catch up, discuss what we’re working on and if there’s anything that we can help each other with. It’s only been my first few weeks at 93x, so at the moment, I’m getting to know everyone - including our clients that I’ll be working with.

A typical day might involve joining one of our weekly catch up calls with clients, where we update them on the progress of SEO and PPC projects and try and help them with other digital marketing queries or doing an analytics audit to spot trends in channel performance. In between work, I’m doing some additional training courses and certifications on SEO and PPC, to make sure that I’m up-to-speed with my understanding of these channels.

What’s the most challenging part of your job?

The world of digital marketing is constantly changing at a rapid pace. Keeping on top of digital marketing trends and having a broad understanding of all the different tools and platforms available is probably one of the most challenging aspects of being in digital marketing but it’s an essential aspect of the role.

Any advice for those who want to do what you do?

I think it can be quite valuable as a marketer to spend time at some point in your career both agency-side and client-side. It makes it easier to put yourself into your clients’ shoes and understand all the challenges that they could be potentially facing and how they’ve got to balance all the key priorities of different areas of their businesses when it comes to marketing.

What future design and/or technology developments in the industry are you excited about?

I think it’s going to be really interesting to see how the use of marketing automation is going to continue to develop over the coming years. Similarly, I’m keen to see how technologies like AI and voice search are going to be utilised more as well.

What are your passions/hobbies/interests?

Before I started a career in marketing, I actually studied music production and used to help run live music events around London for up and coming artists and tried my hand at artist development, so music is still definitely a big passion of mine and I still love going to small, intimate gigs or acoustic nights. Other than music, I like anything active and recently started playing baseball for Cambridge Baseball Club and got really into cycling during the lockdowns. I would say I’m into anything creative too really - like photography!

What’s your favourite thing to read in print/online?

I’ve been getting into reading more non-fiction books like ‘Rebel Ideas’ by Matthew Syed. Online - I tend to like reading articles on Harvard Business Review, Marketing Week and the like but I also love following ‘Humans of New York’ on Instagram and reading all these random New Yorkers’ stories!

What music is currently trending on your playlist?

I’ve been a bit obsessed with a lot of neo soul / UK r’n’b artists over the last few years! Artists like Sinead Harnett, NAO, H.E.R, Jorja Smith.. There’s a lot of great music coming out of the UK especially!

Tell us a random fact about you…

I play guitar (although, I’m a bit rusty these days!)
